Etymology[edit]
From Latin stibium, from Ancient Greek στίβι (stíbi), a variant of στίμμι (stímmi).

stibnite (countable and uncountable, plural stibnites)
- A grey mineral, Sb2S3, that is the main ore of antimony; used in ancient times as the cosmetic kohl.

- The eye-paint used from immemorial times in Egypt is usually held to be stibnite.
