[edit]Inherited from Ottoman Turkish تكسنمك (tiksinmek), from تتسنمك (titsinmek, “to be disgusted, to have a dislike or loathing”),[1] possibly shares common origins with titremek (“to shiver”).[2] Cognate with Azerbaijani diksinmək.
