Etymology[edit]

Akin to Old Turkic [script needed] (yigren-, to be disgusted, abhor), maybe from Old Turkic [script needed] (yīg, raw, uncooked (meat)),[1] from Proto-Turkic *yigre- (to hate, abhor).[2] See çiğ.

iğrenmek (third-person singular simple present iğrenir)
