uroguanylin (uncountable)

  1. A peptide secreted by enterochromaffin cells in the duodenum and proximal small intestine. It acts as an agonist of the guanylyl cyclase receptor GC-C, and regulates electrolyte and water transport in intestinal and renal epithelia.
