Usage notes
[edit]- Hot (as opposed to (too) cold) food is idiomatically varm (“warm”) rather than het (“hot”) in Swedish. Calling food het (“hot”) implies that it is very hot (perhaps too hot).
- Similarly, hot weather is usually "varmt väder", with "hett väder" implying extremely hot weather.
