Etymology[edit]

From χαμογελ(ώ) (chamogel(ó)) + -άω (-áo). Inherited from Byzantine Greek χαμογελῶ. Morphologically, χαμο- (chamo-), here in sense "a little"[1] + γελώ (geló, laugh).[2]
