Shortening of longer phrase لَقَدْ صَادَفْتُمْ أَهْلًا وَوَطِئْتُمْ سَهْلًا (laqad ṣādaftum ʔahlan wa-waṭiʔtum sahlan, You have come across your own people and you have trodden on even ground).[1]
