[edit]From Proto-Karen *k-sreᵀ (“horse”). Cognate with Western Pwo ကၥ့ၪ or ၥ့ၪ, Western Kayah ꤒꤢ꤬ꤞꤤ (tàthi), S'gaw Karen ကသ့ၣ် (ka thaỳ). Compare Proto-Mon-Khmer *ʔseh (“horse”) and Danau ထေ (tʰè).
