Etymology[edit]
ác is derived from Proto-Vietic *ʔaːk (“crow”), from Proto-Mon-Khmer *kʔaak ~ *kʔaik (“crow; to caw”); cognate with Semai eu'ak, Bahnar ak, Khmer ក្អែក (kʼaek). Compare also bồ các.
