Ancient Greek

Etymology

Uncertain. Possibly related to Latin digitus. Probably Lua error in Module:parameters at line 290: Parameter 2 should be a valid language, etymology language or family code; the value "pregrc" is not valid. See WT:LOL, WT:LOL/E and WT:LOF.. Note Boeotian Greek δακκύλιος (dakkúlios). The sense "date" is probably a folk-etymological alteration of a word from a Semitic source such as Arabic دَقَل (daqal, variety of date palm) or Hebrew דֶּקֶל (deqel, date palm).
