Де́д Моро́з (Déd Morózm anim (genitive Де́да Моро́за, nominative plural Де́ды Моро́зы, genitive plural Де́дов Моро́зов)

  1. Father Christmas, Father Frost (equivalent to Santa Claus).
Дед Мороз, a tall skinny old man dressed in red with white trim or blue with white trim, traditionally brings gifts for Russian children on New Year’s Eve night (Dec. 31), but the children see him at children’s parties (утренник, новогодний утренник). His helper is Снегурочка, the Snow Maiden.
