Etymology

Probably literally, to go the same path that someone has gone, or more loosely translated as to follow in someone's footsteps, from Old Church Slavonic дра́га (drága, road, path, way) (see доро́га (doróga)). Over time, the meaning shifted to "to reproduce something or someone's actions".
