Mongolian

Etymology 1

From Proto-Mongolic *eri-, compare Dongxiang eri.

Possibly conflated with a different root *ere- but it cannot be excluded that this is merely a variant of the same root.

  2. to ask about (someone's health)
  3. to desire, to want

  4. to ask for
    Synonym: гуйх (gujx)

Etymology 2

Unknown, seemingly not found outside of Mongolian proper.
