From Old East Slavic ити (iti), from Proto-Slavic *jьti, from Proto-Indo-European *h₁ey-. Cognates include Ukrainian іти́ (itý), Russian идти́ (idtí) and Polish iść.

Usage notes

Ісці and пайсці́ (pajscí) are Belarusian concrete verbs. Their counterparts, хадзі́ць (xadzícʹ) and пахадзі́ць (paxadzícʹ), are abstract verbs.
