The meaning and origin are {{unc|xcl|nocap=1}}. Found only in one passage in the Bible added to {{m|xcl|անդրավարտիք|t=drawers, underpants, leggings}} and corresponding to {{noncog|he|בַּד|tr=bad|t=fabric, cloth, linen}}. The Greek version has only {{m|grc|[[τὰ]] [[περισκελής|περισκελῆ]]||t=drawers, underpants, leggings}}.

According to ''HHB'', from {{der|xcl|hbo|בַּד|tr=bad}} used in the same passage.<ref>{{R:xcl:HHB|vol=I|page=1088}}</ref> The Armenian translator may have used a Greek version of the Bible, which had here the article {{m|grc|τὰ}} + a transliteration of {{m|he|בַּד|tr=bad}}.
