Etymology[edit]

Inherited from Prakrit 𑀓𑀁𑀧𑀇 (kaṃpaï), from Sanskrit कम्पते (kampate). Cognates include Gujarati કંપવું (kampvũ), Rajasthani कांपणौ (kā̃mpṇau), Assamese কঁপা (kõpa), Bengali কাঁপা (kãpa).

    وہ اتنا خوفزدہ ہو چکا تھا کہ وہ کانپنے سے رک نہیں سکا۔
