Etymology

Inherited from Old Marathi 𑘭𑘳𑘝𑘰𑘨 (sutāra), from Maharastri Prakrit 𑀲𑀼𑀢𑁆𑀢𑀳𑀸𑀭 (suttahāra), from Sanskrit सूत्रधार (sūtradhāra). Cognate with Gujarati સુતાર (sutār), સુથાર (suthār), Bengali ছুতার (chutar), ছুতোর (chutōr), Assamese সূতাৰ (xutar).
