[edit]From ฟาด (fâat, “to beat; to fling; to lash; to sway; to whip; etc.”) + งวง (nguuang, “trunk”) + ฟาด (fâat, “to beat; to fling; to lash; to sway; to whip; etc.”) + งา (ngaa, “tusk”); literally "to sway one's trunk, to sway one's tusks" (describing a mad elephant).
