[edit]From Old Khmer ហោរ៑ (hor), ហោរ (hora, “astrologer”); ultimately from Pali horā (“hour”) or Sanskrit होरा (horā, “hour; horoscope”). Cognate with Modern Khmer ហោរ (hao), Burmese ဟူးရား (hu:ra:), Mon ဟောရာ, Lao ໂຫນ (nō), ໂຫຣະ (ro), ໂຫລາ, ຫູຮາ (hū hā).
