From がちん (gachin, thuddingly, adverb; sound effect for something heavy and solid colliding) +‎ (-ko, nominalizer). Compare ぶらんこ (buranko, (playground) swing), from adverb ぶらん (buran, hanging loosely) + (ko, nominalizer).
