Etymology
[edit]From 草 (kusa, “grass”) + 生える (haeru, “sprout”), from 草 (kusa, “LOL”), a development from earlier ww (ww) used to indicate laughter in informal online writing, for its visual resemblance to grass.
Literally, "grass sprouts" or "grass grows".
