  1. Added to a verb to form a noun.
    fest (to paint)festék (paint)
    játszik (to play)játék (toy, game)
    hasad (to rip)hasadék (fissure, rip)
  2. “Heterogeneous plural” suffix: added to a proper noun or sometimes a common noun to refer to a group of persons associated with somebody (e.g. a family, a circle of friends, etc.)
    Éviék mikor érkeznek? ― When will “Évi and the associated group” arrive?
    Horváthék a második emeleten laknak. ― The Horváth family / Horváths live on the second floor.
