Etymology

From a derivative of Sanskrit कृ (kṛ, to do), likely कृतं (kṛtaṃ) or कृते (kṛte). Dasa also suggests (ka, diminutive suffix). Compare Maithili -কেৰ / केर (ker), Sylheti -ꠞ (-r), Bengali -র (-r), Hindustani کا () / का (), Punjabi ਦਾ ().
