Borrowed from Latin -issimus, and partly based on the model of Italian -issimo.

  1. Added to adjectives to form the absolute superlative.
    mismo (same) + ‎-ísimo → ‎mismísimo (very same)
  2. Added to adverbs to form the superlative.
    lejos (far) + ‎-ísimo → ‎lejísimo (very far)
    tarde (late) + ‎-ísimo → ‎tardísimo (very late)
