     Das Bedürfnis, die Karwoche liturgisch auszugestalten, hat ihren Ursprung einmal in den lutherischen Andachten der Passionszeit mit ihren Höhepunkten des Abendsmahls am Gründonnerstag und der Gottesdienstes am Karfreitag.

     The desire to give a liturgical structure to the Holy Week originates from the Lutheran devotionals during Passiontide, with its highpoints in the eucharist on Maundy Thursday and the service on Good Friday.
