Etymology[edit]
Presumably a derivative of nebbich[1] or Nebbich with suffix -ant[2] or rather specifically a blend of nebbich and a word such as Ignorant.[3] However, this often-used word is nowhere to be found in Yiddish sources.[1]

- (Austria, colloquial, derogatory) a person who is willing but inept, incompetent (to do, execute a job, task etc.) and therefore considered useless and good for nothing
