From (deprecated template usage) [etyl] Old Norse Niflheimr literally "world of mist," ultimately from the (deprecated template usage) [etyl] Proto-Germanic *nibilaz (dark, misty), from *nebulaz (fog, mist, darkness) + *haimaz (home, house, village).
