زمن and زمان

I only now realised that I have been confused by these two being separate words. @Fay Freak, should one of them be made an alt form of the other? The descendants are also a mess: many of the ones listed under Persian are surely from Arabic, and for languages like Swahili zamani or Wolof jamano, I don't think it's knowable which form it came from based on morphology alone. —Μετάknowledge^{discuss/deeds} 21:47, 8 February 2020 (UTC)

They are not separate in so far as they are completely synonymous, and natively there is no reason to assume anything. The development of this state with two forms will stay dark, because of their age (no pun intended).
