Unusual situation in 簡編 dictionary + literary/colloquial & definition

I naively added |m=tái,1nb=literary |m=tāi,1nb=colloquial on the basis of《普通话异读词审音表》1987 p41, which was reverted here: [1]. idk if justified or not

But what is the meaning of the 苔 in 舌苔? Is there a difference between the meaning of tái and tāi? The ㄊㄞ definition in 重編 says "參見「舌苔」條。"[2]. Both 簡編 and 重編 say 舌苔 means "舌面上所生的苔狀物。中醫師用來診斷病情。也作「舌胎」。" [3]. I initially believed that the word 苔狀物 would be read as "tái zhuàng wù" and not as "tāi zhuàng wù". But lo and behold: listen to the audio for the definition given in 簡編 [4]- it is read as "tāi zhuàng wù". And the pronunciation written on the page in 簡編 is "ㄕㄜˊ　ㄊㄞˊ". It seems like it is in direct conflict with 國語一字多音審訂表（初稿）p64 "1.ㄊㄞ 1. 舌苔 （同 舌胎）". In a normal situation, I would change the pronunciation on the 舌苔 page to |m=shétāi,shétái , but again, the audio recording reads it as shétāi despite writing "ㄕㄜˊ　ㄊㄞˊ" on the page!

@Geographyinitiative: The 初稿 of 國語一字多音審訂表 is not in effect yet. In the currently effective version of 國語一字多音審訂表 (ROC 88), 苔 only has one pronunciation tái. The audio recording at 舌苔 in 簡編 is probably wrong. — justin(r)leung _{{ (t...) | c=› }} 17:47, 9 February 2019 (UTC)
