Siōng-jiâu[edit]

@RcAlex36 Hey. Based on what you have said here: [1], it is my understanding that this page is invalid or should not exist as well. Is that true? --Geographyinitiative (talk) 18:48, 30 April 2021 (UTC)Reply

@Geographyinitiative: I mean it's probably correct even though I have no way of verifying it at the moment. This page can probably stay though. RcAlex36 (talk) 18:51, 30 April 2021 (UTC)Reply
@RcAlex36 This page cannot exist unless Siōng-jiâu exists. Such a word should not be excluded from the 上饒 page. Therefore, this page needs to be (1) deleted as non-existent or (2) it needs to be linked on the 上饒 page. There is no valid theoretical basis for a middle ground where this page can stay because it probably exists but this page is not linked on the 上饒 page because it probably does not exist. What evidence was offered of the Cantonese pronunciation? --Geographyinitiative (talk) 19:04, 30 April 2021 (UTC)Reply
@Geographyinitiative I'm a native speaker of Cantonese, and the current pronunciation shown seems right to me. RcAlex36 (talk) 19:06, 30 April 2021 (UTC)Reply
@‎Equinox, Justinrleung, Tooironic, RcAlex36 This methodology or mindset of removing the Min Nan POJ is absurd to me because every Min Nan POJ is linked on the Chinese character page if there is such a page. This relates to how pinyin pages work too. I have said everything that I wanted to say in this discussion, and I leave it to the architects of the Chinese character entries here and of the site in general to determine (1) the fate of this page and (2) whether or not Siōng-jiâu should appear on the 上饒 page. --Geographyinitiative (talk) 19:15, 30 April 2021 (UTC)Reply
@Geographyinitiative The best thing to do is to RFV this. — justin(r)leung (t...) | c=› } 20:28, 30 April 2021 (UTC)Reply
