Just the other day, there was a thread about what to call words like this that are formed by spelling out letters, and we found there's no standard term; I guess the entry's use of "pronunciation spelling" (in the etymology) is fine. Other than that, it looks like Equinox and I have cleaned the entry up. PS, if you look at the Google Scholar hits for this, "b" turns out to be a common scanno for "tr" (i.e. most of the hits are actually for "entries", one even also uses "mabix"). - -sche (discuss) 16:31, 9 May 2017 (UTC)Reply

"Enby" is diminuitive, but I have no sources[edit]

My experience is that "enby" was originally created to fit into "boyfriend/girlfriend", i.e. "enbyfriend", and is widely considered to be diminuitive. A lot of nonbinary people dislike the way "enbies" is used to refer to groups of nonbinary people, because they feel it's infantilising. However, I don't have any sources to back that up. I'm putting a note here in case anyone else has any sources. (I'm working on a survey now that might indicate that it's used that way.) Cassolotl (talk) 15:52, 8 June 2020 (UTC)Reply

Update: Source, coined by revolutionator in 2013. No source for whether it's widely used that way yet though. Cassolotl (talk) 15:58, 8 June 2020 (UTC)Reply
