"Cantabrian" not a language that we recognize (should we?) DTLHS (talk) 18:15, 25 September 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Not sure what to do here; I'd merge it in with Asturian and Leonese, but we currently keep those separate, so it's hard to say where it should go. Certainly it's very mutually intelligible with both of them. @-scheΜετάknowledgediscuss/deeds 19:10, 25 September 2016 (UTC)[reply]
Geographically, if it can go with only one, then it should go with Asturian. I wouldn't be averse to us merging Asturian and Leonese, but that's a different discussion. —Aɴɢʀ (talk) 19:22, 25 September 2016 (UTC)[reply]
Examples in The Dialect Laboratory (edited by Gunther De Vogelaer, Guido Seiler) suggest it's mutually intelligible with Spanish, except for misunderstandings caused by (some dialects of) Spanish allowing the omission of certain pronouns which Cantabrian does not allow the omission of. - -sche (discuss) 23:12, 25 September 2016 (UTC)[reply]
That's probably true of all of Astur-Leonese, not just Cantabrian, isn't it? —Aɴɢʀ (talk) 14:34, 26 September 2016 (UTC)[reply]
According to the Ethnologue, “Montañes [≈ Cantabrian] is a Spanish dialect with Asturian influence.” — Ungoliant (falai) 20:56, 19 October 2016 (UTC)[reply]
