Long post[edit]

I believe a social hiring network (SHN) exists and may reside in the study of social economics. It exists as the social relationship between economic resources during the process to produce goods and services. These economic resources include the producers of goods (businesses, companies, employers) and labor (employees, independent contractors, freelancers, contingent workforce). The relationships are between the businesses and other businesses (B2B), and business and labor (B2L).
The SHN encompasses the relationship between the employer and employee, and/or the employee with other employees. A SHN is easily seen within the relationships between the contingent work force, independent contractors and freelancers; where groups of employees work on projects or jobs (seasonal agriculture, construction crews, etc). Those employees work with multiple employers.
A confirmation of a SHN is when the employers rehire the employees for a new project or job; or when employees work with other employees whom have worked together on previous jobs but a new employer.
A SHN often begins when, within a social network (friends, family, tribe etc), a referral is made that brings an employee into a working relationship with an employer. Or where it brings a business into a working relationship with another business. It may also begin with a worker, who knows no one in an existing SHN, is accepted for employment.
A SHN continues when demand creates new jobs and referrals are made within the network to provide the resources. The new jobs may not contain the exact group of resources from previous jobs but it will contain at least one existing relationship.
In my personal opinion these statements are obvious. However I have not found any formal definitions or study but will continue to do so. If the knowledge exists then please add to this article or discussion. Kind appreciation. User:Bernrexer 11:47, 15 February 2012 (UTC)Reply

If this is something you've completely made up on your own, and not a term used by others, please use WT:LOP rather than the main dictionary space. Equinox 11:50, 15 February 2012 (UTC)Reply

This term has been used by others as cited. I have contacted the author of the cited article and will continue to research other knowledge. Bernrexer 13:12, 15 February 2012 (UTC)Reply

No hits on Google Books. Only 88 hits on Google itself. Should we speedily delete? ---> Tooironic 11:07, 6 February 2012 (UTC)Reply
Second definition is obviously wrong - nothing to do with (deprecated template usage) hiring. I would have just deleted it. SemperBlotto 16:58, 8 February 2012 (UTC)Reply

I found a News citation, but nothing from the usual online sources. The term certainly seems SoP in that usage. I see some web use that is suggestive that it is a term that is being promoted by some startup internet-based businesses, suggesting that we may be receiving some attention as a means of promoting one or more of them.
