[edit]

The following information has failed Wiktionary's deletion process (permalink).

It should not be re-entered without careful consideration.

@I'm so meta even this acronym I don't think we normally include typographical variants of this sort in Latin entries. Otherwise every single entry in ae could have alternatives in æ and ę. This is similar to not including separate entries for macrons and diaereses. I would speedily delete these but I'm not absolutely sure of the policy for this. Indeed, just like we do not have separate entries for ſunt and sunt, or nomĩa and nomina. I see no problem in redirecting from ſunt to sunt.  --Lambiam 11:02, 1 July 2019 (UTC)Reply

Keep. English entries with æ (e.g. encyclopædia) are included as well, it's "all words, all languages", and spellings with æ, ę are attestable (and otherwise it's a matter for WT:RFVN).
  • As for abbreviated forms like nomĩa: Such entries do exists (alteriꝰ, ñ), and can be added if attestable (WT:CFI), just like abbreviations and shortenings in other languages are included (ed., pic).
  • As for macrons: They aren't included as they aren't used in Latin (well, there might be exceptions like for uncommon or difficult words but that's a different thing).
  • As for the "Deleted": The entries were here for several years(!), aren't a case for speedy deletion, and deleting them in less than a week is just plain wrong.
