Etymology
Borrowed from Persian تهران (tahrân). Ahmad Kasravi believed the word "Tehran" is derived from an Indo-European language and originally meant "End of Mountain" ("teh" or "Tah" meaning End, and "rān" meaning "Mountain"). (Karvand Kasravi, page 273)
