User talk:David Little~enwiktionary
It won't work. Redirects are not parsed at that level. Robert Ullmann 02:00, 27 August 2007 (UTC)
- You just use #REDIRECT link on the page, no template. Robert Ullmann 02:11, 27 August 2007 (UTC)
Re:David Little[edit]
like this?: #Redirect
- Can you tell me what you are trying to do? Robert Ullmann 02:20, 27 August 2007 (UTC)
Re:David Little:User of the WIKI Project[edit]
I'm trying to, for once or so, create articles the WIKI Project won't delete. Can you please help me share my rare and valuable interests with the world? I would LOVE-&-ADORE sharing them with others using the WIKI Project! Please help me out by telling and/or showing me how to do this; I beg you, PLEASE; PLEASE.
- We have dictionary words in lower case, unless they are proper nouns. We have dinner and lunch. Please stop trying to create them or redirect. You should move Diunch to diunch (see move tab at the top of the page). It is a very rare word, and may not end up being kept. Robert Ullmann 02:46, 27 August 2007 (UTC)
- DO NOT re-create "Dinner". If you can't get this, you will simply be blocked. Robert Ullmann 02:49, 27 August 2007 (UTC)
Re:David Little:User of the WIKI Project[edit]
Sir, I don't believe you're understanding my situation very clearly and welly. You see sir, I'm not going to lie to you, I'm High-functioning Autistic; which literally means I sometimes or usually just can't help what I'm doing with my life in this georgeous, precious world. So, please don't delete any of the articles I've created or will be creating, sir. Thank You, David Little! ~~----
- If your signature isn't working please use the button, which will produce a --~~~~ and not a ~~----. Also, just because you are autistic doesn't mean that you have no control. I work with autistic children on a very frequent basis, and while they may not know what the correct choice is, they do at least on some level (especially the high functioning ones) understand a choice. Please try and learn. Thank you. Neskaya talk 03:18, 27 August 2007 (UTC)
I would prefer you keep comments on my talk page on topic. Additionally, I'm sure that the username doesn't quite imply it correctly, but I'm female.
There is a button that will put your signature there for you. Please try and utilize it. --Neskaya talk 03:30, 27 August 2007 (UTC)
Supper[edit]
Do NOT recreate garbage entries. Particularly when they are factually incorrect, biased, in the wrong place and previously deleted. --Connel MacKenzie 03:32, 27 August 2007 (UTC)
- Hi, you have been blocked for one week...I had not checked the fact that you had already been warned and had numerous (very similar) deleted entries, when I commented above.
- Regarding your medical conditions, I suggest you consult a physician. This is probably not a good therapeutic outlet. It is, however, a dictionary. In a week's time, I assume you will have looked around at other entries on en.wiktionary.org and started to get a glimpse of what we expect. (Use the "Random page" link on the left column, perhaps.) Also, please take some time to look over our various policy pages. Here is the standard "welcome" template with many helpful links. --Connel MacKenzie 04:11, 27 August 2007 (UTC)
Welcome[edit]
Hello, welcome to Wiktionary, and thank you for your contributions so far.
If you are unfamiliar with wiki-editing, take a look at Help:How to edit a page. It is a concise list of technical guidelines to the wiki format we use here: how to, for example, make text boldfaced or create hyperlinks. Feel free to practice in the sandbox. If you would like a slower introduction we have a short tutorial.
These links may help you familiarize yourself with Wiktionary:
- Entry layout (EL) is a detailed policy on Wiktionary's page formatting; all entries must conform to it. The easiest way to start off is to copy the contents of an existing same-language entry, and then adapt it to fit the entry you are creating.
- Check out Language considerations to find out more about how to edit for a particular language.
- Our Criteria for Inclusion (CFI) defines exactly which words can be added to Wiktionary; the most important part is that Wiktionary only accepts words that have been in somewhat widespread use over the course of at least a year, and citations that demonstrate usage can be asked for when there is doubt.
- If you already have some experience with editing our sister project Wikipedia, then you may find our guide for Wikipedia users useful.
- If you have any questions, bring them to Wiktionary:Information desk or ask me on my talk page.
- Whenever commenting on any discussion page, please sign your posts with four tildes (
~~~~
) which automatically produces your username and timestamp. - You are encouraged to add a BabelBox to your userpage to indicate your self-assessed knowledge of languages.
Enjoy your stay at Wiktionary!
Your account will be renamed[edit]
Hello,
The developer team at Wikimedia is making some changes to how accounts work, as part of our on-going efforts to provide new and better tools for our users like cross-wiki notifications. These changes will mean you have the same account name everywhere. This will let us give you new features that will help you edit and discuss better, and allow more flexible user permissions for tools. One of the side-effects of this is that user accounts will now have to be unique across all 900 Wikimedia wikis. See the announcement for more information.
Unfortunately, your account clashes with another account also called David Little. To make sure that both of you can use all Wikimedia projects in future, we have reserved the name David Little~enwiktionary that only you will have. If you like it, you don't have to do anything. If you do not like it, you can pick out a different name.
Your account will still work as before, and you will be credited for all your edits made so far, but you will have to use the new account name when you log in.
Sorry for the inconvenience.
Yours,
Keegan Peterzell
