- A kind of ancient pottery vase used for holding oils, and originally made from alabaster.
- 1907, Ronald M. Burrows, The Discoveries In Crete, page 67:
- The discovery, in an early deposit near the Northern Bath, in company with the serpentine vases described above, of the lid of an alabastron with the cartouche of the Hyksos king Khyan.
