Etymology[edit]
From the Ancient Greek ἀ- (a-, “not, without”) and νόσος (nósos, “disease”) and γνῶσις (gnôsis, “knowledge”).

anosognosia (countable and uncountable, plural anosognosias)
- The inability of a person to recognize his or her own illness or handicap.
- (pathology) Failure to be aware of a defect or deficit resulting from disability, due to brain injury (e.g. Anton-Babinski syndrome).
