1. (with verbs like räumen, schaffen, sein) solved, no longer an issue

   Wir hatten ein Missverständnis, aber das ist jetzt aus der Welt.

   We had a misunderstanding, but that’s over with.

2. (chiefly in the negative) very far away, no longer reachable

   Wir sehen uns bestimmt nochmal öfter, Düsseldorf ist ja nicht aus der Welt.

   I’m sure we’ll still see each other at times, Düsseldorf isn’t that far off after all.
