blanket lien

blanket lien (plural blanket liens)

  1. (law) A lien that gives the lienholder the entitlement to take possession of any or all of the lienee's real property to cover a delinquent loan.
    • 2006, Kathryn J. Haupt, chapter 9, in Principles of California Real Estate, ISBN 1887051287, page 216:
      A release schedule determines how much of the loan must be paid off in order to have a lot released from the blanket lien.
