Etymology
From Proto-Albanian *burnā, from Proto-Indo-European *bʰh₂u-ro-, from *bʰuh₂- (“to be, become”). Close to Old High German gibūro, German Bauer (“peasant”). Orel considers it a Germanic loanword, reconstructing Proto-Albanian *burá.[3]
