From Proto-Basque *edun.[1] The adjective and noun senses are derived from the verb.

Verb[edit]
eduki ? (present participle edukitzen, future participle edukiko, short form eduki, verbal noun edukitze)
- to support, sustain
- to keep

- Synonym: (Northern) ukan
