From (deprecated template usage) [etyl] Latin epitheton, from (deprecated template usage) [etyl] Ancient Greek ἐπίθετον (epítheton), neuter form of ἐπίθετος (epíthetos, added), from ἐπιτίθημι (epitíthēmi, I add on), from ἐπί (epí, upon) + τίθημι (títhēmi, I put, place).
