Etymology

From iso- +‎ -tropic, from (deprecated template usage) [etyl] Ancient Greek ἴσος (ísos, equal) + τροπικός (tropikós, of or pertaining to a turn or change; or the solstice; or a trope or figure; tropic; tropical; etc.).
