From (deprecated template usage) [etyl] Old French julep, from (deprecated template usage) [etyl] Medieval Latin julapium, via (deprecated template usage) [etyl] Arabic جُلَاب (julāb) from (deprecated template usage) [etyl] Persian گلاب (golâb, rosewater), from گل (rose) + آب (water).
