Etymology
Borrowed from French monolithe, from Latin monolithus (“consisting of a single stone”), from Ancient Greek μονόλιθος (monólithos), from μόνος (mónos, “single, alone”) + λίθος (líthos, “stone”); synchronically, mono- + -lith.
