Etymology
[edit]From Proto-Vietic *-ɲɛːlʔ (“light in weight”). Compare Muong Bi nhẽl, Proto-Bahnaric *-hjəːl, Proto-Katuic *ʔŋhaal ~ *ʔŋhɨal (whence Pacoh nghial), Nyah Kur [Central] khəja̱al and Mon သာ.
