Etymology[edit]
From Javanese ꦥꦏꦸꦚ꧀ꦕꦺꦤ꧀ (pakuncén), from Hindi कुंजी (kuñjī, “key”), from Sanskrit कुञ्चिका (kuñcikā). Equivalent to kunci + peng- -an. Doublet of penguncian.
