- (intransitive, sports) to practise with a ball (especially to repeatedly bounce or dribble it while retaining control) [auxiliary avere]
- (transitive) to juggle (an object from hand to hand)
- (transitive, figurative) to pass around (an object, a look, a task, etc.)
- (transitive) to brandish (a weapon)
- (transitive) to rock, to toss gently (e.g. an infant)
