Etymology[edit]
From Ottoman Turkish پارلتی (parıltı, “glitter, gleam, flash”),[1] from پارل (parıl, “'onomatopoeic for; gleaming, flashing”), from Proto-Turkic *par (“onomatopoeic for; burning sound”),[2] morphologically par + -ıl + -tı.
